Following his re-election in 2023, Governor Makinde submitted his first list of commissioner-nominees to the House of Assembly, which included two women: Mrs. Toyin Balogun (Women Affairs and Social Inclusion) and Alhaja Fausat Joke Sanni (Special Duties).

To meet the campaign target, the Governor swore in two additional female commissioners on September 14, 2023: Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi (Health) and Miss Wasilat Adegoke (Youth and Sports).

As of early 2026, we can confirm that these four women continue to serve in the Oyo State Executive Council, maintaining the promised 100% increase in female commissioner representation.

Beyond the commissionership level, the administration also appointed women to the state's two highest civil service positions: the Secretary to the State Government (Prof. Olanike Adeyemo) and the Head of Service (Mrs. Olubunmi Oni), marking a historical first for the state.
